These cookies are the first cookies I learned to bake, and they have been a favorite in my family ever since. Their soft and chewy texture makes for the best chocolate chip cookie you’ll ever have. Try the recipe below, and don’t forget to leave some for Santa!
Ingredients:
- 2 and 2/3 cups of flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of iodized salt
- 2 sticks (1 cup) of softened butter
- 3/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
- 1 egg
- 2 cups of chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium sized bowl. Stir, then set aside.
- Blend softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together in a large bowl. Beat in vanilla and egg.
- Pour dry ingredients into wet and stir until smooth. Add chocolate chips and stir again.
- Place spoonful of batter per cookie on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 8-12 minutes (to keep them as soft and chewy as possible, minimize their baking time).
- Remove from oven and let set for 1-2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool. Enjoy!
